Finding the right dress for a wedding can be stressful and tiring, especially when you have one too many deadlines to meet at one given time. As the bride, it is your responsibility to make sure that you not only look good on your special day but calm and relaxed. Here at Jets Tailoring, our goal is to make sure that you feel confident, knowing we are with you every step of the way. With our inhouse tailors' help, we have put together five main mistakes to avoid when ordering your dress.
1. NOT DOING YOUR RESEARCH
Before engaging a tailor, make sure you do a background check first, asking yourself these questions. Do they have a physical location? Do they have a website? Check for reviews on social media platforms or Google My Business. How often do they engage with followers on social media? Once you have answered these questions, you can now decide what to do next. The reason why this is important is to make sure they can deliver on time and meet expectations.
2. WAITING TILL LAST MINUTE
Engage your tailor 2 to 3 months ahead of the wedding; this should give you enough time to re-adjust the dress if need be and enough time for the tailor to sew.
3. NOT KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT
Before engaging your tailor, make sure you know what you want. By this time you should know what type of dress you would like to wear at your wedding, the style and shape of the dress and how it should look when its sewn. Please do your research on Google and have a discussion amongst immediate family and friends for their views. But remember, at the end of the day, it's your views and how you feel that matters.
4. YOU GET LAZY
Leading to the wedding day, there is a period of 2 to 3 months. During this time, there is a possibility of gaining weight, resulting in the dress not fitting you. To avoid this, we recommend you exercise regularly to keep fit and in shape.
5. DON'T STRESS
Have fun and, importantly, stay positive.
